Up for sale here is this recap kit for the Harman-Kardon ST-7 or ST-8 turntable. The old capacitors start getting leaky or short out, resulting in various issues. This will take care of most of the circuit-board-related issues you will see with these turntables. Leaky capacitors can damage other parts, so even if your turntable is working, you should still recap it. This kit includes replacements for the two electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board, the one electrolytic and two tantalum caps on the motor board, and the two .01 uf safety disc caps (C1/C2) to the left of the power supply board. Th ese are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I work on vintage stereo gear. New capacitors are 1 Supertech axial electrolytic cap, 2 Nichicon PW caps, 2 Nichicon KL caps, and 2 Kemet film safety caps. I will include fairly basic instructions, but these turntables can be difficult to work on, so you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. These turntables can suffer from bad Hall-effect sensors, and this kit will not solve that. As far as I know the only real solution there is to get a motor from a Dual 701 or 721 and steal the Hall-effect sensor from it .
